Wakefield Park Track Day

A very quick edit of some Contour HD 1080 helmet camera footage I shot at the Wakefield Park track day on 25 March, 2011.

Stick around at the end for the bloopers! (Moderate language warning during the bloopers).

Many thanks to Mark (the rider at 2:35 in the video) for organising the trailer and getting us to the track!

The Racetec tyres are wearing extremely well and give excellent grip in the dry. Wet grip is not as good, however I am generally a very cautious rider in the wet. That said, I have found the limit of wet grip a couple of times. Things got exciting very quickly.

I've started planning my next Iron Butt 1600k Route - a loop that starts and ends in Sydney, via Bega, the Great Alpine road and Thredbo. The requirements for the Iron Butt 1600k is that you must ride a motorcycle at least 1600 kilometres within a 24 hour period.

Iron butt route - Pacific Highway, New England Highway loop

At 11:40pm on Saturday, 29 March, my Kawasaki ZX-10R and I were ready to head off on our adventure - an Iron Butt challenge known as the Saddlesore 1600 which requires the rider to travel at least 1610 km (1000 miles) in less than 24 hours. With 3 hours to go before my deadline, I pulled into the Coles Express service station at Wahroonga, having traveled a total of 1787 km in 21 hours.
